Naloxone Training - September 16th

Updated: Sep 24, 2024

Would you know what to do if you encountered someone experiencing a toxic drug poisoning?

Join the Downtown Residents Association at the Yates Street Community Garden (1014 Yates St.) at 5:30 pm for a free 1-hour workshop that could help you save a life. We will talk about some of the misconceptions related to the toxic overdose crisis and stigma surrounding the issue. Our instructor will then go over the steps involved in administering Naloxone and participants will have a chance to practice.

If you have already taken part in a Naloxone training but are not feeling confident that you would remember what to do if you came upon someone needing help, this is a great opportunity for a refresher!

** Please avoid wearing perfume, cologne or other scented products. **

Accessibility details: The workshop will take place at the Yates Street Community Garden, accessed through a wide gate and gravel pathways. There is paid street parking on Yates Street directly in front of the garden. Bus tickets will be available for those who face financial barriers to attending. If you have questions or concerns about accessibility at the event, please email us at engage@victoriadra.ca.

We encourage those who are able to walk, cycle or take public transit to the event. The closest bus stop (routes 3, 11, 14, 15, 22, 24 and 25) is on the north side of Yates, just west of Cook (approximately 100 metres east of the garden).
