Recap: January’s Roving Refinery at The Guild

vice-president0

Our most recent Roving Refinery was held on January 21, 2014 at The Guild Freehouse, 1250 Wharf Street. Our hosts, part owner Calen McNeil and general manager Andrew Morris, graciously provided an elaborate spread of fine eats in the Guild’s upstairs event space.

We collected 9 pairs of warm socks, two cans of food, and $95 cash from members in attendance, all of which was donated to Our Place Society. Congratulations to Carey, Hugh, Kelly and Matt, who each won a $25 gift certificate for The Guild.

Chef Sam Benedetto, part owner of The Guild, has created a menu based on traditional British fare, but executed with true craftsmanship, using the best ingredients from local producers.

All of the brews at The Guild (12 beers on tap and up to 40 bottled varieties) are from small, independent breweries in Victoria, The Lower Mainland, Washington and Oregon.
